The design process can be overwhelming, so we take our role as leaders in this journey as seriously as our creative vision. For those curious about what to expect as an SDID client, we thought we would walk you through the process and what you can expect . . .
Step 1 - Initial Consultation & VISUALIZATION
We love to begin our process with a brief phone call to discuss your plans for the project and our general requirements. From here we will set up an initial consultation to discuss function, design style and goals. This is the perfect time to share a Visual Library where we review photos to understand your desired aesthetic. Pinterest, Houzz or even personal photos are perfect.
STEP 2 - Drawings
Now that we know you and your goals better, it’s time to create technical drawings. They are the starting point to properly communicate the design intentions in a visual format. These drawing include AutoCAD and in some cases hand drawn floorpans, elevations, furniture plans, tile pattern, lighting plans, etc. all of which provide us with a road map to create the reflection of your life within your home.
STEP 3 - DESIGN & PRESENTATION
Now its time to create a customized, comprehensive presentation of color schemes, design style, finishes, and materials to help you visualize the overall look and feel of your project. This can include selecting flooring, countertops, cabinetry, paint colors, furniture, lighting, window treatment, art, accessories and more.
STEP 4 - PROJECT MANAGEMENT & INSTALLATION
Consider this part “behind-the-scenes” phase; proposals are accepted, designs are approved, orders are placed and shipments are tracked. We receive your finishes and furnishings at our warehouse for perfection inspection and hold them until installation. We are there to the very end, coordinating the project and overseeing everyone involved. It’s no surprise that the installation of all the hard work is the best part and we finally get to see your vision become reality. Furniture is delivered, window treatments are hung, accessories are placed and artwork installed. Now it is finally time to say, “Welcome Home.”

Therapy
Are you feeling confused about your space and have no clear direction? If you are in need of a couple of hours of consultation then this is the package for you. Ideal for the DIY person that is feeling overwhelmed and needs guidance in choosing a direction.

- 2 Hour In-Home Consultation with 2 Designers
- Written Consultation Summary
With this package, Susan and another SDID designer provides on-site advice, answers any questions you have about your home - interior or exterior. During this time, we will work together to develop a scope of work and an outline of suggestions for you to act upon. This outline will be given to you at the summation of consultation. During this consultation it’s possible to review the following:
- Necessary updates to rooms or furniture
- Color Suggestions
- Furniture Placement and suggestions regarding styles
- Window treatments or other design questions
- Peace of mind that you are moving in the right direction!
Consulting
Our consultion service is perfect for those clients who have a sense of direction but really need expert counsel and assistance with selections in some areas.

- Expert Designer on Call - includes emails, phone calls, shopping or site visits.
This package is perfect for clients who have some direction but need a little help zeroing in on their thoughts. This is also ideal for smaller projects that mostly consist of furniture selections, paint colors, window treatment design and general styling. Here you will have a designer to brainstorm your project, help with selections and/or make selections for you. Many consulting projects evolve into Full Service projects.
Full Service
This is our most popular package. If you have a new construction project, remodel or just a larger project that you prefer to sit back and let the magic happen then this is for you.

With this package we take care of everything for you! Here is how it works:
We begin with an initial consultation and site visit to make 100% sure that we are a good fit for your project. After that we get started creating your beautiful home.
- Design measurements and in-depth interview to determine design style and scope of project.
- Trades are invited in to get estimates for design implementation.
- Creative Design begins.
- Full design presentation including drawings, finishes, furniture, fabrics, any and all aspects to carry out your unique design.
- Trades are scheduled and furnishings, lighting, styling items are ordered.
- Installation Day and Reveal! Champagne Welcome Home!
Commercial
Project not a home? We specialize in all things commercial too including Senior Living Facilities, Real Estate Offices, Law Offices and any other commercial space.

For commercial projects, we use the same organized design process, simply replacing the personal list of our residential clients with a brand based approach as the driving force.
